• General Information:

  • Who is Gapp ?

    Gapp is the God of Fine Clothing in Discworld MUD.

  • Who is Zak ?

    Zak is a priest of Gapp.

  • What is Discworld MUD ?

    Discworld MUD is a multi user role-playing game based on Terry Pratchett's Discworld books.

• List Information:

  • Which objects are included in the list ?

    I try to include any kind of non custom made clothing you can find on the Disc.

  • What about backpacks, leather armour, boots, ... ?
    • Backpacks are usually out. The bag from the Silver Starr Boutique is in, though, since it's too stylish to be out.
    • Leather armour like the barbarian harness is out, leather jackets and leather aprons are in.
    • Boots are mostly in, unless they are definitely armour.
    • Gloves are in, gauntlets are out.
    • Caps are in, helmets are out.

  • Why is the stylish black tweed jacket not on the list ?

    If you find something somewhere that should be on the list but is not, then please tell me or mail me the name and the description of the item (I would like to hear how and where you got the item, too, if you wish to tell). If I like the item then chances are that I would like to buy it, see the Buy and Sell section for this.
    Please do not send items to me without being asked to do so, even if you want to give them to me for free, since (a) this makes it easier to determine who sent what and (b) I might wish to buy the item with an alt and it's pretty bad to have something on the wrong character with no chance to ever transfer it to the right one.

  • Why are the descriptions of the items not in the list ?

    Including the descriptions in the list would take away the fun of browsing through the shops, so they will not be included.

  • I cannot download the packed guide ...

    It seems as though 20m sends non html files only if the 'referer' for the request is a 20m web page.
    Netscape and IE both usually send this line, but at least Netscape 4.72 does not send it when downloading via shift left click or via right click, 'save link as ...'. Download via left click and then 'save as ...' works, though.
    If this did not help you, then just send me a mail and I'll send you the file.

• Item Information:
  • What does [!,P,B] mean ?
    • ?: I need information on this item. If you have such an item or know something about it, then please contact me.
    • !: Special game ability, anything from item-specific commands to instantly killing the wearer.
    • P: Item has pockets.
    • Q: Higher quality items exist. See Qualities.
    • B: I would like to buy this item. See the Buy and Sell section.
    • S: You can buy this item from me. See the Buy and Sell section.
    • M: The item was replaced by a missing item receipt. Maybe the item's file moved, maybe the file does not exist any more.

  • The information on the cheery hogfather costume is incorrect.

    Please inform me about this, per tell, per mudmail, per zak_of_gapp@web.de, as you wish.
    If you find out that the price the list states for something is a little bit higher than what you have to pay for that item at a shop, then this may be due to the fact that some shops sell items that are not in 100 per cent (but still in 'excellent') condition.
    For clothes not sold in shops the list may state 'Value: A$0' even though they are worth a few pence; it is quite hard at the moment to find out the exact value of objects worth less than 25 pence.

  • What does 'higher quality' mean ?

    Some items, clothes as well as others, come in different qualities:

    • (standard quality)
    • slightly above average quality
    • above average quality
    • well above average quality
    • high quality

    Standard quality items do not have a quality statement in their description and are sold for the standard price. The other, higher quality, items include the statement 'It appears to be of ...', and each is about 10.5 per cent more expensive than the one above it (the exact factor may be e^.1).
